SCNA MONTHLY MEET-UPS

Each month, SCNA hosts a monthly dinner and discussion group at different pizza parlors or restaurants around the greater Los Angeles area. This is a way to introduce new people to naturism and to dispel mistaken impressions that non-nudists may have about us. Anyone with a sincere interest in discussing naturist issues is welcome. This month's Meet-Ups:

SATURDAY, APRIL 10, Check-in: 9:30AM
ANNUAL MS CHARITY WALK
Location: Leadbetter Beach, Santa Barbara
COST: A DONATION TO THE MS CHARITY
(You can solicit outside donors too!)

(Walk actually begins about 10:15 AM. Event lasts until about noon.)

SCNA and NBA members have signed up to walk with several hundred other people – all representing other organizations and businesses – down the boardwalk near the Santa Barbara pier as part of the national effort to raise money to find a cure for this terrible disease. If you have never done one of these community fundraisers, they are a lot of fun and only require a few hours of your time (and a good pair of walking shoes) on a sunny Saturday morning.

If you can’t walk the whole distance, there are shuttle buses that will pick you up along the route and return you to the assembly point. A great way to meet new people as you walk and educate them about the need for nude beaches in California.

To arrange car pooling to the event, contact the club Message Center at either (818) 225-2273 or (805) 910-8277 so we can send you directions to the assembly site at Ledbetter Beach.

• Because we are all driving separately, let’s meet at the “warm pool” at Noon.

There are several overnight cabins for rent, plus RV/Camper hook ups should you wish to stay overnight.

SUNDAY, APRIL 18, Check-in: 9:30AM
FIRST ANNUAL NUDE 5K BURRO RUN
Location: Olive Dell Nudist Ranch, Colton
The day after Deer Park, Olive Dell (20 min down the road from Deer Park) is hosting their first Nude 5k “Burro Run.” Your SCNA gets you into the park with the hopes you will participate or else cheer on those foolish enough to run that far through the back hills. Let us know (call us!) if you want to attend so we can submit names.

More FAQ about the event:

• Check-in starts at 9:00am 4/18, and we will gather for the race by 10:15.
• Dress code for the race: The actual race is run nude except for socks and gym shoes. Women may wear a sports bra. Be sure to bring a towel in case you want to wipe or sit down.
• Some may choose to walk the race instead of run - there will be a group doing so you can join.
• Spouse and partners may watch, and won't be required to get nude to do so.
