SCNA MONTHLY MEET-UPS

Each month, SCNA hosts a monthly (clothed) dinner and discussion group at different public restaurants around the greater Los Angeles area. This is a way to introduce new people to naturism and to dispel mistaken impressions that non-nudists may have about us. This meeting is also a required pre-requisite before we can invite you to one of our clothing-optional parties. Anyone with a sincere interest in discussing naturist issues is welcome. CO-ED NUDE YOGA!

These classes are especially useful for people who suffer from low self-esteem and poor body image because it is done in a safe, nurturing environment. But it is open to anyone who wishes to discover an entirely new way of looking at your own body, spiritually and physically.

Saturday, July 5, NOON - 7 PM
BATES BEACH RALLY
LOCATION: SANTA BARBARA/VENTURA COUNTY LINE

For the past 10 years, the more-remote northern half of this beach is the best kept secret in the south county. We want to bring back the clothing-optional fun that used to be common there. If you agree, come on down to Bates and show your support! Bring your own picnic supplies, chairs, bathing suits and sunscreen and make a day of it. If enough people show up, we may even break out a volleyball and net!

Although we are working with the county to change its nudity ordinance, that law is still in effect at this beach at this time. Wear less than a bathing suit at your own risk. Most of us will wear the minimum required, which means the skimpiest bathing suit you have. Some women tell me they will wear pasties on their nipples or even band-aids, as they did at the Venice Beach Top-free protest last summer. The further down the beach you sit, the lower the risk of a ticket.

At the end of the day, many of us will drive into Carpinteria to buy dinner and pay with $2 bills (we will provide them) to demonstrate the purchasing power of the local nudists!

This mid-summer pool party is always one of our most popular. As is our tradition, sometime around 2pm, members will retire to a corner of the backyard and elect 7 new members of our SCNA Board of Directors to serve for the next 12 months. We do this every year and we encourage everyone to participate. This is a volunteer organizations and we are only as good as those who help out! Time for our annual election of new officers and Board members to serve for the next 12 months. We encourage everyone to participate. LOST AND FOUND AUCTION!
We will auction off all items left behind at our parties during the previous year. This means towels, folding chairs, and some clothing.

There will also be a 50-50 cash raffle!

SCNA will provide soft drinks/water, and snacks (chips & dip). Please bring a potluck side dish to share.

Oh yes, and there is a big pool, jacuzzi and a lawn for sunning. Who could want more?

NUDESTOCK WEEKEND AT GLEN EDEN!
Gate Fee: $21.25/per person per day
(Saturday 7/19 is the SCNA club day)

Come back to the garden, at least the one Glen Eden will try to recreate this weekend for their NUDESTOCK music celebration!

Bands will be playing all weekend long, 1 each on Friday and Sunday, and these three bands on Saturday:
• 12pm – 4 pm – The After Hours (60’s Tribute) Band
• 4:30pm – 7pm – Desperado, an Eagles tribute band
• 8pm – 12am – The Woodstock Tribute Band

During all this they’ll have their usual water volleyball games, tennis clinics, cribbage and 8-ball tournaments. Or you can just chill in their great pool, Jacuzzi, or lounge around listening to the tunes. The Sunshine Café will be open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner on Saturday & Sunday.

When you RSVP let us know which day, or days, you plan on attending. You will pay Glen Eden directly when you arrive, not the SCNA. Be sure to bring your SCNA membership card, to identify yourself as such.

Glen Eden allows you to visit three times before you must become a member there to continue to visit. Attending this event will count as one of those three visits. However, if someone were to come out for the weekend and stay (3-4 days or whatever) that is considered 1 visit. Remember you can become a member at Glen Eden through the SCNA at the special rate of $68 per year. You can apply for this membership directly at their front desk.

Also, if you’ve never been to Glen Eden before, you will be required to take a guided tour of the facilities. As they will be very busy this weekend, it’s recommended that you take the tour prior to this weekend.

WESTSIDE JACUZZI PARTY
LOCATION: Westchester (near LAX)
MEMBERS: $10, NON-MEMBERS: $20,
AGES 18-25: $5, CHILDREN UNDER 18: FREE

Valleyites can cool off with a party nearer the beach with a party on the Westside. SCNA will provide soft drinks.

Games are a tradition at this party, so bring one to share (cards, backgammon, mahjong, etc. or you may choose to play "Catch Phrase," a popular word association game favored by the host. A Jacuzzi is also available for your enjoyment.

TRAVEL CLUB DISCOUNT DAY
GLEN EDEN SUN CLUB, CORONA
SCNA MEMBERS: $15/person (pay to GE directly)

This event is open to all SCNA members who are not also members of GE through their Commuter Membership program (see ad at right), since those people can go to GE at any time and pay just a $15.00 gate fee.

Travel Day is a monthly event open on a specific Saturday to all non-landed travel club members in Southern California. You MUST show your SCNA membership card at the GE registration office and pay $15 to gain admittance.

Join with members of other travel (non-landed) clubs and enjoy the pool, volleyball, tennis, restaurant, etc., for the entire day! RSVP to (818) 225-2273 is optional but GE appreciates a head count in advance.

AANR-WEST ANNUAL CONVENTION
LAGUNA DEL SOL, WILTON, CA

This is the annual gathering of west coast AANR club delegates (mostly representing the parks and resorts). SCNA delegates will participate in several of the meetings (Marketing, Government Affairs, etc). Laguna del Sol is a lovely park located just south of Sacramento, with a nice restaurant if you have never been there. Camping and RV sites are still available. Give us a call by July 15 if you are interested in attending as a voting delegate from SCNA
